Geosynthetic Clay Liners

“BentonGSL” is made from Sodium Bentonite which is an extremely absorbent and attracts positively charged water particles hence it is widely used in Geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs).

The property of swelling makes Sodium Bentonite useful for the sealing of disposal systems or to line the base of landfills to prevent migration of leachate.

Features

  • Attracts positively charged water particles.
  • Rapidly hydrates when exposed to liquid, such as water or leachate.
  • Provides low hydraulic conductivity.
  • Swelling property of Bentonite gives ability to self-repair any rips and holes in GCL.
  • Helps in effective barrier system.
  • Helps to retain seepage inside of the landfill.
